Determining The Teams

Scoring

  • In the cornhole game, the total score is typically set at either 21 or 25 points. The team that reaches or exceeds this score first is considered the deserving winner.
  • Each team’s aim in the cornhole game is to throw the cornhole bag either towards the board and land it on the surface or aim to have it go through the hole on the board.
  •  If the cornhole bag lands on the board, one point is earned. If the bag goes through the hole, three points are scored.

Gameplay

  • The team that scored more points in the previous round gets to throw first in the next round. 
  • First, a player from Team A stands in front of their board and throws their four bags towards the board.
  •  Then, a player from Team B, the opposing team, takes their turn to throw their bags. 
  • All players must keep their playing area within the rules in mind and stay within their boundaries while tossing the bags.
  • Alternate throws until all eight bags have been thrown.

 Scoring And Cancellation

  • Once all the cornhole bags have been thrown, the scores for the round are calculated. 
  • The team that scores fewer points has their score subtracted from the score of the team with more points. Then, the remaining points are added to the score of the team with the higher score.
  •  If both teams have an equal score for the round, no points are awarded, and the round is considered a cancellation.

Continuing The Game 

  • When the team that scored more points in the previous round gets to throw first in the next round, the game continues. 
  • The game keeps going until one team reaches the total points required, which is typically 21 or 25 points. As long as a team has not reached the target points, the game continues. 
  • The team that reaches the total points first is declared the winner.

  • When you throw a bag and it hits the ground first before jumping onto the board, it will be considered a foul, and the bag will be removed from the board before the next bag is thrown.
  •  If a cornhole bag touches the ground before landing on the board or bounces off the ground and then lands on the board, it is considered a foul.
